Dear Everybody,

Saturday was fought on two fronts: Gillian and Jooles raced in W.Mas C 2x at Trafford (Bridgewater Head) and were first of three (Yay!)  Also racing was Kjerstie, who won W.Mas F 1x (but racing as Stratford RC – Congratulations!).  Also featuring was Beth Chatto and her chum (who occasionally row for us – when we lend them the boat – but this time were representing their Uni - Keele) who came a close second in W.2x (only five seconds in it).

The second front on Saturday was the Home one, with George Euston coming off his floats successfully.  Well done George!

Sunday saw a win at the Head of the Trent for our Masters C quad (Rob, Chris, Stuart, and myself).  We turned the tables on the Trent RC quad that had bested us by 22 seconds at Loughborough last November, and beat them by 30 seconds (we had a good scull).  Also sighted Trentside were James and Kate Doleman (along with parents and grandparents – good support group), both were rowing for Nottingham Rowing Club, and they promise to send me news of their doings which I will pass on in due course.

I must also report the resignation of Sophie Doleman (hopefully temporary), who’s longstanding back issues are now being addressed by the hospital system.  Despite the considerable pain she still won her event at last year’s Leicester Regatta, but she has been advised to stop rowing until her condition improves.  We look forward to seeing her soon, and send her our best wishes for her recovery.

Yours,

Lewis
