Following Monday’s committee meeting, on behalf of the Club, I would like to welcome Hannah Munns and Alex Lewis as new members in the Junior section.  Also, I would (belatedly)like to welcome a temporary visitor, Rose Talbot, who is sharpening her sculling skills over the summer before returning to Uni.  The Kanghua coxed four leant to us by Eric Sims is being returned on Monday.  Alas, it was not a very user friendly hull shape, very deep and narrow, making it difficult to balance.  There are better options on the horizon, ‘nuff said for now.

 

The website is now functioning again, and there are several new things to look at, but the main news is that the contact emails are again coming through.  The server had updated its software (why is it that progress seems to mean that things that used to work, no longer do so?), which resulted in a backlog that dated back to the 4th of January.  I’ve answered a lot of emails.  So far, one of them has resulted in a new learner (Joe Walker), and in addition this week saw Tom Jesson (friend of Harry Davies), and Jay James (brother to Lucy) and his friend Jake Jackson.  So, four newbies in a week.

 

Next Saturday we race at Warwick Regatta, so all sessions on Saturday a cancelled (sorry).  Tuesday as usual.  I will detail boatloading later.
